Baltimore, David. Letter to the editor. Issues in Science and Technology 6 (Winter) 1989-1990,
Baltimore is given space to respond to the Greenberg rebuttal to his earlier article. There is no
question here of the reply: "From the start of my ordeal with the Cell paper, Daniel S.
Greenberg - through his newsletter - has taken any pretext to attack me. He has used propaganda
techniques, including convenient omissions, selection quotations, extensive pejorative, and the
liberal use of unnamed sources. In his letter to Issues, Greenberg drops any pretense of objective
reporting, reaching outside his own publication to hound me with another recital of his
often-expressed views..." (p. 27)
