Drug scandals continue. The fraud continues. Now there are villains to be located in the FDA
itself.

It is important to note that it is not merely the industry and its physicians who are corrupted by
this sort of thing. "Since the scandal came to light in June 1988, five former FDA employees
have been convicted, including Marvin Siefe, who was director of the agency's generic-drug
division."

"The charges ranged from bribery to accepting illegal gratuities to racketeering."
