Benefits of Anubing
With its scientific names artocarpus cumingiana and antocarpus ovata blanco, this species is only found in the Philippines. It usually grows in forests from northern Luzon to Palawan and Mindanao at low and medium altitudes.
Physically, anubing is a tree which can grow up to 30 meters in height and 100 centimeters in diameter. Its leaves can also lengthen up to 30 centimeters and 10 centimeters width. It has male spikes which can grow up to 2 centimeter long while the female heads can reach nearly 2 centimeters in diameter. Its fruit is about 10 centimeter long while seeds are ellipsoid and embedded in whitish gummy meat. It is believed that when anubing bark is boiled, it can be used to treat stomach aches.
