Benefits of Arbor vitae
With its scientific name Platycladus orientalis, this plant is also known as biota, chinese-arbor vitae, and oriental arbor-vitae in English. Arbor is known to be native in China but has been widely naturalized in the countries around east Asia, Korea, Japan, India, and west to north of Iran. It is often planted as an ornament and is planted in the gardens in the Philippines.
Arbor vitae have diuretic, anticancer, anticonvulsant, stomachic, antipyretic, analgesic, and anthelmintic effects. Studies have also shown that this plant is antimicrobial, insecticidal, antioxidant, anti- inflammatory, and promotes hair-growth.
