Benefits of Arnus
With its scientific name alnus japonica, this plant is also known as Japanese alder or Japanese alnus in English. It is known to be indigenous in Korea and is grown in Japanese wet lowlands and is propagated by seed or grafting. In the Philippines, it grows in Baguio and other parts of the Mountain Province.
In some countries, arnus is used to treat cancer, gastric disorders, hepatitis, and fatty liver. It may also be used as a dye that is obtained in its bark. Studies suggest that it has hepatoprotective and antioxidant effects.
