Benefits of Baai

With its scientific name pueraria thunbergiana, this plant is also known as Ke hemp, Kudzu, mile-a- minute, and Japanese arrowroot in English. It can be found in the provinces of Batan, Benguet, Quezon, Rizal, Biliran, Banton, Negros and Mindanao. It typically grows in open grasslands and thickets in Benguet ascending up to 2,000 meters at low and medium altitudes.

Baai has antidotal, antiemetic, antipyretic, antispasmodic, antivinous, demulcent, depurative, galactagogue, hypoglycemic, hypotensive, styptic, and antifebrile effects. It is believed to cure fevers, coldds, influenza, dysentery, snake bites, poison, dog bites, skin rashes, tinnitus, vertigo, deafness, diabetes, and a remedy for alcoholism and hangover.
