Benefits of Honeysuckle
With its scientific name lonicera japonica, this plant is also known as the Honeysuckle, Halls honeysuckle, Japanese honeysuckle, and Woodbine, in English. This species is known to be a native of Japan. It was just recently introduced in the Philippines and is now cultivated in the country due to its fragrance, attractiveness, and teeming flowers.
It has antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antiviral, depurative, diuretic, and febrifuge effects. It is also believed to help cure conditions such as infections and poisoning, common colds, upper respiratory infections, ulcers and abscesses, skin inflammation, rashes, and sores. It is also used in Brazil to facilitate childbirth
