Benefits of Saga hutan

Saga hutan (Adenanthera pavonina), is a member of the legume, pea, or bean family Leguminosae. It is known by several common names, including circassian bean, coral wood, peacock bean, peacock flower fence, red bead tree, red sandalwood and sandalwood tree. The fast-growing deciduous tree is cultivated in Manila as a shade tree.

Medicinally, seeds have properties that are considered to have toxic properties. But when cooked, it is edible and rich in fats and proteins. The plant is antibacterial, leaves are considered astringent, roots are emetic, and bark is also astringent, vulnerary and aphrodisiac.
