Benefits of A las doce
With the scientific name leucosyke capitellata, this plant is also known as ki beunteur in Indonesia and mandahasi in Malaysia. It is known to grow in Taiwan, Java, and New Guinea while it grows in thickets
and second-growth forests at low and medium altitudes throughout the Philippines.
It is known that alagasi leaves are particularly high in magnesium content which can contain about 626mg/100g. The decoction of the roots is used to treat phthisis, coughs, headache, and gastralgia. In the province of Zamboanga de Sur, particularly in Subanens in Dumingag, alagasi bark is applied at the back of the throat to treat coughs.
