Benefits of Apatot
With its scientific names morinda littoralis and morinda citrifolia, this plant is also known as cheese fruit, indian mulberry, or wild pine in English. Apatot usually grows throughout the Philippines mostly along or near the seashore. It can also grow in India and Polynesia.
This plant has emmenagogue, cathartic, febrifuge, tonic, vulnerary, anticancer, antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anthelmintic, analgestic, hypotensive, anti-inflammatory, and immune-enhancing effects. In the Philippines, apatot fruit is used as emmenagogue, while fresh leaves applied to ulcers promotes healing.
