Benefits of Apurau
With its scientific names scirpus articulatus, scirpus incurvatus, and carex glomerata, this plant is also known as Bullrush in English. Apurau grows in Luzon Provinces such as Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Pangasinan, Nueva Ecija, Rizal, and Laguna, usually in open, wet places in settled areas at low altitudes. It also grows in the Old World tropics.
Apurau is considered as purgative. In some places, this plant is used for baby’s vomiting and diarrhea. Juice obtained from grounded apurau roots are given to babies before taking breakfast.
